Batteries
In cars with internal combustion engines, batteries serve as a source of direct current electrical energy.
They power electrical receivers in the car when the engine is off and provide the electrical energy necessary to start the internal combustion unit.

Which battery to choose?
Although they all look similar, car batteries differ significantly.
By dividing them by construction, we can distinguish:
- Lead-acid batteries:
the most commonly used type of starter batteries, filled with traditional electrolyte,
i.e., a liquid solution of water and sulfur (sulfuric acid);
- Gel batteries:
instead of traditional electrolyte, they are filled with acid mixed with silica in the form of gel.
They are mainly used in scooters and motorcycles;
- EFB/AFB/ECM batteries:
batteries with extended durability. They have a larger electrolyte tank, created for cars equipped with start-stop systems.
They are not resistant to deep discharge;
- AGM batteries: much more efficient than lead-acid batteries, technologically more advanced, with separators made of glass microfiber mat or polymer fiber. Unfortunately - relatively expensive and not resistant to high temperatures, so they cannot be installed in the engine compartment.
When choosing a battery, you should also pay attention to its capacity and starting current, check the polarity, as well as its size. For this reason, we recommend using a search engine that allows you to select a battery according to the car model.
